Wild Goose Chase 2017
This challenge is hosted by The Bookshelf Gargoyle and I’m going to give it a try because I want to do more category challenges this year. The Challenge will run from January 1st to December 31, 2017. Challengees must read at least one book from each category (listed below). Challengees must read a DIFFERENT book for each category – even if your book title might fit a number of categories, it will only count towards a single category. Challengees are free to choose which category best suits. The categories listed are a loose guide and creative interpretation of the categories is not only encouraged, but applauded.
Book title categories with my TBR hopefuls:
1. word or phrase relating to wildness–any interpretation of the word “wild” is acceptable (The Antelope Wife by Louise Erdrich)
2. species of bird (or the word “bird”) (The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah; Six Geese A-Slaying by Donna Andrews; or The Pigeon Pie Mystery by Julia Stuart)
3. exotic or far-flung location–fantasy and mythical locations are acceptable (The Xibalba Murders by Lyn Hamilton or Secret of the Andes by Ann Nolan Clark)
4. object you might hunt for (A Desperate Fortune by Susanna Kearsley; Lost Lake by Sarah Addison Allen; or The Prime Minister’s Secret Agent by Susan Elia MacNeal)
5. synonym for chase (or its derivatives: chasing, chased, etc.) (Witch Hunt by Shirley Damsgaard)
6. means of transport (Trains & Lovers by Alexander McCall Smith)
7. object you might take on a search or hunt (The Water Room by Christopher Fowler)
