It’s here! February approaches and it’s time to sign up for Carolyn’s reading challenges. In order to allow us time for fun during the holidays rather than posting challenge stuff, she runs her challenges from February to February. I really like this because the end of the year seems hectic to me with all the end of the year posting. If it’s a limited challenge and I finish early, I try to post during the year, but many that I sign up for go the entire year, causing a last-minute flurry. So this one can be enjoyed until the end of January! This year I am again repeating The Gentle Spectrums games A & B, and adding the Mystery and new Celtic Coasts, bringing my total to 17 for the year. This is a new personal high and I am very selective in what I choose, but it might be overwhelming. We’ll see.

Any and all mystery content works here with the following signposts for progress. This dovetails nicely with a couple of my other more specific mystery challenges and may help me get some more mysteries off my TBR shelf this year.
– Look for authors born or residing in Wales, Ireland, Scotland.
– Books in which even a momentary part visits these countries.
– Welsh, Irish, Scottish connections: fictional and non-fiction literature.
Carolyn’s new challenge offers me another opportunity to move some TBR books and read books I own that are set in these three countries.

What a wonderful post for my new circle and returning ones, combined! Thank you Sue, for giving us a lovely, inviting introduction: just what we needed! 🙂 I don’t have anything Welsh yet and am curious to see which combinations members contribute to Celtic Coast’s inaugural year.
Among those 17, of course our groups post no difficulty. They are easy, hang-out loiunges with themes. We encourage reading as you said, rather than limit anything. I care more about friendly faces joining, than finishing any specific number. That you are selective and choose our community from year to year, is certainly praise. Let’s see which books and interesting combinations this year’s Spectrums, Myseries, and Coasts bring! Xoxo, Carolyn. https://cmriedel.wordpress.com/ethereal-2016/
