The day after taking the pictures of all of our snow, we got dumped on again. Kind of a pattern this year. We got around 11-12" of new snow on Sunday (February 3). Enough that they canceled church and we spent most of the rest of the afternoon helping neighbors get shoveled out. Brian is standing behind that same pile of snow that I had the pictures from on Saturday, but it has now grown considerably.
Luckily we get a break for a day or two, before the next storm hits us on Wednesday.

Hello,
I don’t know if I am doing this right–have never commented on a blog before….
You may not remember me, my family was in the ward in Leavenworth, KS years ago when we were teens…I was Janice’s age. You were the age of my sister Cyndi.
I am a teacher, (in Gilbert Arizona)and was helping a student find information on the slave freedom trail and I told them of your wonderful house with the sunken bathroom that had been a place for slaves to hide–dont know if I have the story right, but the student was impressed. I did a google search to see if I could find out anything about your house there in Leavenworth and at some point aftr putting in Carey home as a long shot, I got this blog. The last I saw you was at BYU after your mission. It is so great to see/hear of everyone. I was sad to hear about Paul.
Neat to hear of all the Korea missions–our grandfather, Ken Roos built the first chapel in Seoul and prepared the ground for another building that the temple was later built on.
My family is all good– everyone in the thick of missions and college and teens –Laura-in Washington 4 boys 1 girl–one boy only at home now Pam –Montana boy and girl—college age. Cyndi– Washington–5 boys and 3 girls—3 at home–she has a granddaughter– me-in Arizonawe just moved here from Calif a few years ago—3 boys 1 girl-hoping my oldest goes on mission here soon… Bill in S. Carolina–2 teens, Bob in Idaho 6 younger ones. My parents retired to Caldwell, Idaho. They “went” on a mission in the mission office there in Boise for a few years
I remember Christine at the cute little 2-3 year old who would put her wrist up on her forehead and say “I just cant handle it!” Janice taught her that. I remember you all played a million instruments, I was so amazed–my oldest is good on piano. I remember the fun parties at your house–and having seminary there by the huge piano. We only had one car for a long while and your mom would drive us to and from church-I don’t know how she manged all that. I wonder what became of Lee Shouse and the Freibel girls. I dont remember anyone else. Maybe that was all there was of us….. oh and the Mitchells. anyway, it was fun to run across you and see that life is good for you all.

Janet,
It is great to hear from you. I do remember your family well (you lived on Esplanade if I remember right). I received an email from Cyndi a couple of years ago, but somehow it had got lost in spam filters and so was quite a bit later that I replied, but never heard anymore. I saw someone from Gilbert had spent quite a bit of time on our website, and wasn’t sure who it was. Now I know! As you see we now live in Alpine, Utah. Jeff Mitchell actually lives not far from where I live. I run into him every once in awhile. Don’t know about Lee Shouse. I know that he became a police officer for the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s department. My family moved back to Leavenworth for about a year and a half in the early 90’s and saw Lee regularly then. My parents moved to Alpine in the late 90’s so have kind of lost touch with the Leavenworth people. Say hi to everyone for us.
