I’m joining the Gentle Spectrums challenge for the 6th year and making my goal one book in each category. Any books read after that until the end of the year will be a bonus. I’m trying to decrease my stress and still have fun, so a new plan sounds great. This challenge has the following categories for 2019. Thanks to Carolyn for hosting!

My Kind of Mystery 2019
I’m joining the My Kind of Mystery challenge for the 4th year and giving myself freedom without a goal. So unlike me! I’m going to drift along and see where the year takes me and how many books I read that fit the challenge parameters: everything mysterious, including biographies and tutorials. I usually read many mysteries each year so we’ll see if I beat last year’s total of 34. Thanks to Carolyn for hosting and I’m looking forward to a fun year!
Celtic Coasts 2019
I’m joining the Celtic Coasts challenge for the 4th year and giving myself freedom without a goal. So unlike me! I’m going to drift along and see where the year takes me and how many books I read that fit the challenge parameters: an author born or residing in one of the three Celtic countries of Ireland, Scotland, & Wales, literature that takes place among these countries, or is connected to them strongly. Thanks to Carolyn for hosting and I’m looking forward to a fun year!
Celtic Coasts 2018 wrap-up
All the reading challenges at Riedel Fascination run February 1, 2018 to January 31, 2019 so we don’t have to do wrap-up posts during Christmas and New Year’s time. In keeping with my word of the year for 2018, LIGHTEN, I cut back on reading challenges but wanted to play along with Carolyn’s fun challenges.
This was my third year for Celtic Coasts which looks for books with a tie to Ireland, Wales, or Scotland in setting or author. I set a goal of 25 books this year with a Celtic tie and with my challenging year of less reading, I only read 16. But that’s still pretty good. All the binge reading of Anne Perry for another challenge really helped. Here’s what I accomplished:

In keeping with my word of the year for 2018, LIGHTEN, I cut back on reading challenges but wanted to play along with Carolyn’s fun challenges. I set a goal for each one and figured I would be done when I accomplished it, but with some I just kept going. This was my third year for My Kind of Mystery. Last year I logged 71 mysteries for the year, and in order to lighten, I set a goal of 25 books this year and accomplished 34, even with the an abbreviated reading schedule. Here’s what I accomplished:
